Katrina completed her Master of Architecture (Professional) in 2016 from Victoria University of Wellington. Her final thesis explores how structural retrofitting can enhance the architecture and add value to earthquake-prone buildings. It investigates how form and detailing of the additional structure can drive the adaptation and extension, creating new and improved architectural spaces. She also has a strong passion for different vernacular architecture from different eras and countries.
Outside of the profession, Katrina enjoys staying active by taking dance classes and doing hikes around New Zealand. She also loves travelling – experiencing new cultures and foods.
